Oil vs. Water Based Paint Products

These days with few exception all house paints are water based. Oil is not environmentally friendly. Wood stains and clear coats are still available in oil formulas. On stains for wood T.G.A. has seen water formulas perform just fine. On clear coats T.G.A. is leary of water based as they can become cloudy with some white showing. This especially stands out when the underlying stain is darker in color. Oil on the other hand can amber or yellow.
